No AC? I’ll take the natural route

I was going out to see our elderly Grandmother this weekend.

  • She’s just turned 94 years old & is incredibly frail.

Because of her advanced age, it makes activities around the home difficult, & I like to go out and visit every weekend to help her out with her weekly chores as much as I can. She’s made it this far, & I wanted to make sure she was taken care of adequately. I also try to call her weekly to ensure she is doing okay. One afternoon, I observed that her home was entirely growing sizzling & humid, & when I looked around for any source of available cooling, she did not have any! I was really surprised at this; I would have thought that most houses would have had installed air conditioner by now. But her home is incredibly old, to be fair. She seemed to not mind it that all that much, although I certainly wondered if I could possibly help her with that. Paying for an entire air conditioner upgrade was fairly high-priced & I didn’t have the additional money to spend at hand. I knew our Grandmother was fairly old fashioned, anyways, so instead of being cooped up in her sizzling home all afternoon, I simply started taking her on small walks with me at night. It is naturally cool at night, & there was a cooling breeze. I also put a fan in the window for her to bring in a cool breeze, which helped a lot with the lack of air conditioner system. Every one of us started spending the mornings looking at the stars in the sky together, pointing out all of the brightest stars. I already planned long ahead of time of getting her a current cooling unit, however this set up will do for now.
